Poultry

The intestinal integrity and the development of resistant microbial strains, as a result of the excessive use of antibiotics are becoming more critical factors as growth and production rates of commercial poultry are improving and the availability of antimicrobial agents is scarcer. To make things worse, the development of new antibiotics by the pharmaceutical industry is not an option since developed countries are eliminating and controlling their use in animal production. Nowadays, Citrex represents an excellent new option under these new circumstances. Citrex Powder is added to the feed as a substitute of growth promotants, for the prevention of Necrotic Enteritis (Clostridium perfringens) and infections caused by pathogenic strains of Salmonella. Citrex Liquid is generally applied in the drinking water for prevention and control of intestinal and respiratory infections. When applied via spray it prevents and controls respiratory reactions produced after vaccination or caused by other respiratory pathogens.

Breeders
Citrex Liquid. Use in breeders and grand parents.

Broilers
Citrex Liquid. Use in broilers.

Layers
Citrex Liquid. Use in commercial layers.
Hatcheries

It is an excellent tool for a HACCP program. Non toxic, non corrosive, non carcinogenic disinfectant with a prolonged residual effect (48 hours) that does not leave residues in embryos or eggs, nor cause irritation in animals or humans that get in direct contact with the product.

USES (1000 ppm)

  • Disinfection of clean fertile eggs.
  • Disinfection of dirty fertile eggs (washed).
  • Disinfection of setters (floors, walls, ceilings and ducts).
  • Disinfection of carts, trays and general hatchery equipment.
  • Disinfection of walls, floors, ceilings, halls and general facilities.
  • Disinfection of hatcheries (Aspergillosis prevention).
  • Application in humidifiers located in the cold room.
  • Spray through the spray nozzles to control Pseudomonas infections (setter and hatcher).

Dose (ml) of Citrex to be mixed in 100 liters of water to obtain the correct concentration in ppm

Swine

The excessive use of antibiotics in commercial farms has stimulated the development of resistant bacterial strains that have spread all over the world, affecting the performance and general health of pigs. This situation, as well as the presence of immunosuppressive conditions is causing a surge in the presence of intestinal and respiratory diseases in weaner and grower pigs. Citrex is an excellent option to prevent and control the development of pathogenic bacteria, viruses and fungi in pigs, in farms presenting a history of antibiotic-resistant microorganisms. Citrex Powder is added to the feed for diarrhea and dysentery control, and as a substitute of growth promoters. In several trials, it has worked as well as the most common growth promoters available in the market, including Colistin, with the added advantage that it can control Salmonella plus other important pathogens. Citrex Liquid is generally used in two main areas: control and prevention of fungal, bacterial and viral infections; and disinfection.

Applications:

DRINKING WATER

1.  Application during stress periods. Apply when performing the following management practices:
-  feed changes.
-  several days before and after the transportation of pigs.
-  before and after application of live and/or inactivated vaccines.
Dose: 200 ppm

2. Salmonellosis prevention. Application in infected pigs (isolation of Salmonella in the stools) or for prevention purposes.

Prevention: 100 ppm continuously.
Infected pigs: 200 ppm for a minimum of 21 days.

3. Control of unspecific diarrhea. Application in pigs showing diarrhea caused by Escherichia coli or another enteric pathogen.

Dose : 200-300 ppm

SPRAY (1000 ppm)

1. Respiratory disease caused by APP, PRRS, PMWS (circovirus) and Mycoplasmas. Spray with a knapsack sprayer every day. Use 1 liter
of solution for every 50 to 60 pigs.

2. Maternity. 1 liter of solution for every 5 or 10 sows.

DISINFECTION
1. Maternity. Spray facilities and equipment 6 to 12 hours before housing sows (1000 ppm).

2. Sows. Bathe or sprays the sows before forrowing.  Disinfect vulva and teats after forrowing (1000 ppm).

3. Nursery. Spray the facilities and equipment 6 to 12 hours before housing piglets (1000 ppm).

4. Biosecurity. Apply with a proportioner or medicator to disinfect the water used in the showers by the farm personnel (200 ppm).
